In the Seventies

Yesterday I bought a soap dispenser and shower curtain rings at TJ Maxx. The soap dispenser is very cool - a shapely glass bottle in an awesome light blue color. The shower curtain rings are also quite cool – orange rusty squares on metal hooks. (Ok, I confess. The details are irrelevant. However, this is as close to show-n-tell as a non-institutionalized adult can get. I’m taking advantage of it!)

Anyway. Although I was relieved to find that my personal information was not compromised by TJX, I must admit I was perplexed by something.

70% Dark Chocolate Covered Pretzels

At first glance, one may not notice anything odd. But I did. Think about it – from reading that, can you be certain exactly what the box contains? It could be that:

-Each pretzel is 70% covered with dark chocolate.

-The box is 70% full of dark chocolate covered pretzels.

-The covering used for the pretzels is 70% dark chocolate.

As to the remaining 30% for any of these scenarios, I have no idea.

-What’s on the other 30% of the pretzel?

-What comprises the other 30% of the box?

-What is in the 30% that isn’t dark chocolate?

And finally, if it only contains 70%...why pay full price?
